After giving a talk on “The Three Essential AAA in Personal Growth and Professional Development: Personal Sharing of a Wireless Network Engineer” at the March 4 High Table Dinner at Shiu Pong College (SPC), Professor Yue On-Ching conducted a dialogue with a small group of 11 SPC students the next day.
Prof. Yue began the “Dialogue” with an interesting question of “How many wireless technologies is there in a smart phone or a Macau Pass?” This raised the interest level of the participating students in asking more questions, such as the difference between a scientist and an engineer, and the importance of an open-mindedness in a rapidly changing world. This further prompted questions for more personal sharing about reasons for his choice of serving as an engineer rather than as a scientist. The lunch gathering ended with an encouragement from the speaker that we all should learn to prioritize our choices amidst a busy schedule.
Prof. Yue is a wireless network engineer from the United States. Currently he serves as a Science Advisor to the Hong Kong SAR Government’s Commission of Innovation and Technology.”
