Shiu Pong College Organized Movie Screening and Sharing about Ex-mentally Ill People

On December 16-17, in collaboration with FuHong Society of Macau and Macao Populace Mental Health Promotion Association (MPMHPA), Shiu Pong College showed two short films closely related to ex-mentally ill people including those with intellectual disabilities or recovering from mental illness. The production teams were also invited to share with students.

About 60 students participated in this activity. Although the creators of the two films are mostly non-professionals, they expressed the concern for the rights of ex-mentally ill people in sincere way. Some students said that they were deeply moved during the viewing process.

Prof. Zhang Benzi, Master of Shiu Pong College said in the events that the concept of caring for ex-mentally ill people and reducing barriers as well as discrimination coincided with the mission of SPC. SPC members are also practicing using short film to express their views on life. SPC hopes to have more cooperation with FuHong Society of Macau and MPMHPA in the future, so that students have better opportunity to serve the local community.
