Shiu Pong College: “Heart” Vaccine Action 2022

Under the impacts of the pandemic, mental health is as important as physical health. In order to enhance students’ psychological resilience, SPC, MCMC, UM Psychological Counselling Centre, and UM Centre for Macau Studies held a “Heart” Vaccine Action 2022 from 12 to 19 January and attracted around 700 participants across the campus. There were a series of on-campus and online activities, including “What Can We Do with Stress”, “Movie Salon – Beyond the Dream”, “To Lie Flat, or Not to Lie Flat?”, “Life Gatekeeper for College Students”, “From Suffering to Wellbeing”, and a “Step-by-Step Community Health Program”. The aim of these activities was to raise students’ awareness of mental health issues, increase their accessibility to psychological counselling resources, and help students to increase psychological wellbeing and reduce stress under the impacts of the pandemic. This university-wide campaign received positive response and participants actively interacted with speakers, and they looked forward to participating in more mental health related activities in the future.
