Shiu Pong College popularized Peking Opera Culture

 

An excellent talk and workshop on “New Experiential Learning on the Performing Arts of Peking Opera” was held at Shiu Pong College on March 21, 2016. Prof. Fung Shui-lung and Ms. Jin Huiling brought unforgettable experience on Peking Opera.

Prof. Fung, Associated Professor of BNU-HKBU United International College introduced history of Peking Opera. Then Ms. Jin who was an experienced actress of Peking Opera and born into a family of opera artists explained different roles in Peking Opera. She gave a demonstration of a well-known play named “Mu Guiying Takes Command” and won warm applause. Prof. Leung, Master of Shiu Pong College and students also put on costumes and learned how to perform. Many students said that this activity was highly enjoyable and educational.

 

紹邦書院推廣京劇文化

 

3月21日，紹邦書院舉辦了以“聯合國非物質文化遺產──京劇表演藝術新體驗”為主題的講座及工作坊。北京师范大学-香港浸会大学联合国际学院中國語言文化中心副教授馮瑞龍先生以及京劇資深演員金慧苓女士為同学們帶來了難以忘懷的京劇藝術體驗。

馮教授介紹了中國戲曲的發展歷程，從原始的唱歌跳舞到元代雜劇，從明清時期的經典作品到京劇發展的繁盛期，并用一首生動幽默的打油詩來加以概括。出身于梨園世家的滿族京劇高手金慧苓女士則是現身說法。她先是講解了京劇中的主要角色分工，如“生旦淨末丑”，及相應的扮相，之後親自為同學們示範了京劇的四功五法，并穿上戲服表演了京劇名段“穆桂英掛帥”的片段，讓同學們大開眼界，連聲喝彩。接著，在金女士的帶領下，梁偉賢院長和同學們也穿上戲服，學起了京劇的動作和唱腔。同學們紛紛表示，此次活動寓教於樂，讓大家了解了京劇文化，希望能有更多類似的活動。
