SPC Encouraged Students to Explore Romantic Relationships from Multiple Perspectives

In March 2026, Shiu Pong College (SPC) held a series of three events to help students understand romantic relationships from different perspectives.

On March 11, social workers from the Domestic Violence Prevention Task Force used a variety of role-playing scenarios to help students recognize the “hidden violence” that can arise from the way we speak, and then practice how to express themselves appropriately in romantic relationships.

On March 18, during the talk titled “Talking About Love and Sex: The Session of Love”, Ms. Man, the SPC counselor helped students rediscover the true meaning of “love” and break down its core essence. Students learned effective communication skills they can use to resolve conflicts and misunderstandings in their relationships and find their own path to intimacy. Shortly thereafter, during the “Talking About Love and Sex: The Session of Sex” on March 25, two tutors from the Macau AIDS Care Association used a variety of teaching materials to introduce knowledge about sexually transmitted diseases, as well as the proper use of various sexual health products.

The students shared that the series of activities this month was diverse and engaging. The speakers and attendees were able to interact freely, filling a gap in traditional classroom instruction regarding romantic relationships. This will help young students build better relationships with others in the future.
