Q & A about SPC 2015 Overseas Summer Program at  NCU

Q1: How much shall I have to pay for this program?

A1: SPC will provide subsidy (MOP 15,000) , each student will have to pay the rest of program fee (USD 2,195– MOP 15,000  = about 2000 MOP), flight tickets (10000+ MOP), visa fee (MOP 1280 MOP ), travel insurance and personal expenses.

Q2: Which documents should I submit for application?

A2: All required documents are listed in application form which can be downloaded from SPC website (https://spc.rc.um.edu.mo/spc-summer-program-in-usa/).  It is noteworthy that you should submit certification of your English skill including English subject score in Entrance Exam at UM and Transcript copy in English (since year 1). If you do not have the above documents, you should submit other written documents which can be used to guarantee that you are qualified in this program. You should also submit Declaration of Parental Consent which can be downloaded from SPC website too if you are under age of 25.

Q3: Shall we go to America together?

A3: Yes. According to UM’s policy, group leader and students should depart and return together in order to ensure the safety.

Q4: When shall we start to apply for U. S. Visa?

A4: Applicants should submit completed application form to SPC general office on or before May 8. SPC will select qualified applicants accordingly and send the name list to NCU on or before May 12 for their approval. NUC will send us letter of acceptance around May 13. SPC will announce the result of application on May 14.

Applicants please indicate whether you prefer individual or group visa appointment with the US Consulate in HK.

If we have 10 or more applicants opt for  group visa appointment, SPC will assign a group coordinator to help make the  arrangement, and students will have to go as a group on the appointment date.

Those who opt for individual visa appointments should  make online booking with the closest US Consulate office.

Q5: Is there any requirement for size of photo on application form?

A5: The photo is just for record in SPC, so there is no specific requirement.
